Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel in Cheltenham, and I must say that my dining experience was a mix of highs and lows. the breakfast, which was not mentioned on the hotel's website, was a delightful surprise. the freshly cooked meal featured locally sourced produce, adding a touch of uniqueness to the dining experience. the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, and the flavors were simply exquisite. It was a true delight to start my day with such a delicious and satisfying meal. However, the breakfast service did have its flaws. As mentioned in previous reviews, there were instances where orders were muddled and forgotten, creating a bit of a chaotic atmosphere reminiscent of a Fawlty Towers episode. I witnessed a concerning situation where a guest with a food allergy was not taken seriously, prompting them to leave in search of a pharmacy. This lack of attention to detail and safety is definitely an area that the hotel should address promptly. In terms of ambiance, the hotel itself was a lovely old building with characterful decorations that added to the overall charm of the place. the location was perfect for my visit to the Cotswolds, as it was conveniently close to all the attractions I wanted to explore. the street where the hotel was located was picturesque and adjacent to a lovely park, adding to the overall appeal of the area. Overall, my dining experience at this hotel was a mix of highs and lows. While the breakfast was a culinary delight with its use of locally sourced produce, the service could use some improvement to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for all guests. I would recommend this hotel for its charm and convenient location, but would also advise the management to pay closer attention to the details of their dining service to elevate the overall experience for guests.
